Intensive hands-on workshop to compare projected and actual energy performance of an existing building through spreadsheet-based analyses. The workshop will introduce the analysis process and specific building-based and consumption metrics (electric, water, fan, ventilation, heating/cooling, etc) to be calculated. The objectives of this workshop are: a) to give designers an easy-to-use method to evaluate energy consumption on past projects; b) to compare projected and actual energy consumption; and c) to develop a better understanding of where potential savings can occur. Collaborative teams of design professionals and selected students will be given information on a Northwest building to evaluate and analyze.
