In order to promote the Energy Star standard of home construction, Kenergy piloted a rebate program (2010-2011) to reward builders who built homes that qualified for Energy STAR certification. In order to participate in the program, the builders agreed to a five step process that began with choosing a Home Energy Rater to follow the construction process with inspections, and ended with applying for the $1,000 rebate. If the home’s HVAC was geothermal – based, the builder received another $1,000.
